Achievements 2025

Highlights from Achievements 2025 include:
- Advancing seahorse conservation in Sri Lanka by leading a multi-sector workshop to strengthen expertise for future surveys and national conservation planning.
- Advocating for seahorses and an end to bottom trawling at global ocean events.
- Bringing new evidence on seahorse fisheries and trade back to national authorities and partners in Peru, after our research revealed the alarming scale of seahorse bycatch in non-selective fisheries.
- How Project Seahorse is helping shape new Decisions under the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES). These Decisions guide national action on illegal seahorse trade, national plans, and monitoring.
- Supporting government partners in Indonesia with fisheries and trade surveys to strengthen seahorse conservation and ensure any trade is legal and sustainable.
- Strengthening Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) in the Philippines and publishing new evidence that shows well-managed MPAs safeguard coral reefs and seahorse habitats.
- Launch of our global arts movement, Inspired by #IconicFishes, that connects artists, makers and dreamers of all ages around the world to our quirky fishes through creativity.
